Treecreeper (165) finally nailed in the big park this morning...and about time too!
Also in there and successfully avoiding the lens in most cases, a crackin' Sulphur Tuft fungus growing out of a large Willow which also had a Great Spotted Woodpeckers nest with young being fed in it, no photo of the 'peckers - not for want of trying! A Great Crested Grebe had one youngster in tow and we might have managed a pic of that as they were close to the bank at one stage...patience required and you might be lucky.
Over the lake the tiniest bit of drizzle dropped a flock of about 100 Swifts and House Martins in equal proportions.
Nice to be out somewhere a bit different early(ish) on a muggy morning, plenty of common stuff, residents and migrants, but no Spotted Flycatchers.
Where to next? With the relief of getting the Treecreeper we might have a day or two off so don't expect another update until the weekend...but you never know so keep popping back just in case.

Lastly - the safari isn't going to Wembley, due to quite an (= extremely) important prior engagement...doh, doh, doh and triple doh...COME ON YOU 'POOL, SEA-SEA-SEASIDERS!!!!! TANGERINE-TANGERINE-TANGERINE!!!!!

Congrats on finally finding that elusive tree creeper! Not sure if I have any big unexpected no-finds at this point, I'll have to think about that....

What bird would you be consoled with if Blackpool lose Dave :-) would you allow them to lose, so as to record such a species ....toughie!
