A dart to the park

The Safari enjoyed a good tern roost this morning on Patch 2. At least 60 Sandwich Terns were gathered tightly on the beach with a dozen more fishing out to sea. with them were half a dozen Common Terns and again there were a few more offshore. Scuttling along the advancing tide-line was the best count of the season of Sanderlings - a whopping 15, not many but they're on their way!
A habitat creation project required a quick trip to the big park to check on the availability of some surplus to requirements materials that are up for grabs - we've  bagsy'd a lorry load...but what are we making??? What this space!!! (Assuming the boss puts his hand in his pocket)
The depot in the park is near the lakes so we had a few minutes with the camera, rude not too really...
Glad we got this pic as we needed a Dunnock pic for a project we're developing for the youngsters in the forthcoming new term
Havin a ratch
 Crikey the light was harsh!
The best (or is it second best) bird in the book put in an appearanc; coulda done with it just turning its head a little more to get a better highlight in the eye.
The vegetation is growing out of floating rafts that were put in a couple of years ago and are starting to look good - shoulda a taken a pic of the striking show of Purple Loosetrife - lookin really good at the mo.
Where to next? An exciting day of pond dipping and mini-beast safari-ing with a group we've not worked with before - - is there a better, more accurate, term for this activity; how about invertebrate locating???
In the meantime let us know what's putting on a floriferous show in your outback.
